Dubai Police have impounded a high-performance vehicle and taken legal action against its driver after a viral social media video showed the car being driven recklessly across multiple locations in the city. The vehicle was impounded and the driver faces legal action, including a fine of up to AED 10,000 to release the vehicle. Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic, said traffic patrols traced the vehicle after it was filmed performing dangerous stunts that posed a serious threat to public safety. Authorities said the violations included excessive speeding and illegal vehicle modifications, which caused flames to shoot from the exhaust and produced excessive noise, disturbing residents and other motorists. “The road is not a stage for stunts or risky experiments,” Brigadier bin Suwaidan said, warning that such behaviour could lead to severe accidents, loss of vehicle control and distractions for other road users.
