Devonport unexplained death: Police appeal for CCTV and dashcam footage

Police are appealing for information from the public following an unexplained death in Devonport. Emergency services were called to a Kerr St address about 11pm on January 1, where a person was found deceased. Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Bunting said a scene examination at the property is ongoing, and residents can expect to see a continued police presence on Kerr St throughout the weekend. A post-mortem examination is being carried out today. As inquiries continue, police are asking for assistance from the community, particularly those who may have CCTV or dashcam footage. “We’re appealing for assistance from residents and businesses in the Devonport area with road-facing CCTV cameras,” Bunting said. Police are especially interested in footage from Vauxhall Rd, between Grove Rd and Church St. They are also keen to hear from anyone who travelled along that section of Vauxhall Rd or Kerr St between 10.30am and 10.30pm on New Year’s Day and may have relevant dashcam footage. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
