Venezuela's military might - Armed forces showcased as 'US strikes' rain down on Caracas *ARCHIVE*

"Archive footage published on Saturday shows Venezuelan armed forces on manoeuvres, as reported US strikes hit Caracas. Video includes militiamen training at Fuerte Tiuna in September and President Nicolas Maduro at the military procession at the 'Walk of the Heroes' monument in July. Venezuelan tanks are also seen at the iconic 2022 'Tank Biathlon' held at Alabino training ground in Russia's Moscow region. The standoff between the US and Venezuela has reached breaking point in recent months, with Washington deploying ships and personnel to the Caribbean under the guise of tackling 'drug trafficking'. On Saturday morning, loud explosions were heard across the Venezuelan capital in what local media is reporting as 'US airstrikes. Chinook and Apache helicopters were also spotted in the skies over Caracas. The US has also carried out dozens of deadly strikes on alleged Venezuelan 'narco-boats' and seized oil tankers. According to media reports, regional experts claim the vast majority of fentanyl is moved into the US through the Mexican land border - with cocaine moved in vessels to Europe rather than the US. Caracas has strongly denied claims of drug trafficking and accused the US of attempting to instigate 'regime change'. Donald Trump has refused to rule out sending in troops. Maduro's armed forces are around 123,000-strong, with the president estimating the Venezuelan volunteer militia has increased to around eight million members."
