DOH records nearly 1,000 mental health calls during the holidays

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) Mental Health Hotline logged nearly 1,000 calls during the recent holidays, according to the agency’s social media post on Saturday. Based on data from the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH), 961 callers reached out to the DOH Mental Health Hotline from Dec. 21, 2025 to Jan. 2, 2026. A spike in calls was noted on Dec. 30, 2025, with the most common concerns involving relationship or love life problems, anxiety, and depressive symptoms.
