US State Dept. says Venezuelan President Maduro will 'face justice'

President Donald Trump claimed on social media that the U.S. had successfully conducted large-scale strikes in Venezuela, capturing President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, who were reportedly flown out of the country. Earlier, Maduro accused the U.S. of causing a series of explosions in Caracas and other areas and declared a state of emergency. Around 2 a.m. local time, explosions and the sound of aircraft were reported over the capital, with smoke rising from a military base hangar and parts of the city losing power. The developments come amid an increased U.S. military presence in the region, reportedly targeting suspected drug-trafficking vessels linked to Venezuela. Peter O'Brien has the latest.
