Gold, silver prices fall sharply

KARACHI: Gold and silver prices declined noticeable on Saturday, following a downtrend in the global markets, traders said. Local gold prices dropped sharply by Rs4,700 to Rs455,562 per tola and Rs4,030 to Rs390,570 per 10 grams, according to All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association. World bullion market shed gold prices by USD47, settling at USD4,332 per ounce while silver was trading at USD72.81 per ounce, down by USD1.06, it said. Domestic silver prices reduced by Rs106 to Rs7,756 per tola and Rs91 to Rs6,649 per 10 grams, the association added. It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at different prices as compared to those officially established by the association. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
