PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has directed that construction work on Swat Motorway Phase II be initiated at the earliest. He stated that the project is a flagship initiative of the provincial government and that all required resources will be provided on a priority basis to ensure its completion within the stipulated timeframe. The Chief Minister also directed the concerned departments that all technical issues related to the project be resolved without delay. Chairing an important meeting regarding flagship road sector projects, the Chief Minister indicated that the groundbreaking of the Peshawar–Dera Ismail Khan Motorway would be carried out soon and directed the concerned authorities to complete all necessary preparatory work promptly. The meeting reviewed in detail the progress of Swat Motorway Phase II, Peshawar–Dera Ismail Khan Motorway, and Dir Motorway projects. According to details, the Peshawar–Dera Ismail Khan Motorway and Swat Motorway Phase II are being developed under the Public Private Partnership model, while all financial resources required for the Dir Motorway will be provided by the provincial government.
