PSCA sets up virtual blood bank

LAHORE: The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) established virtual blood Bank (VBB) on January 1, 2025, with the primary objective of ensuring timely availability of blood during medical emergencies. In a short span of one year, this Nobel initiative has emerged as an effective, large-scale, and hope-inspiring platform, playing a vital role in serving humanity and saving precious lives through prompt emergency response. According to the spokesperson of PSCA, over the past year the virtual blood bank has facilitated timely provision of blood to nearly 9,000 patients, resulting in saving countless human lives. Additionally, over 100,000 citizens, students, private institutions and organizations voluntarily registered as blood donors, actively contributing to this national humanitarian mission. The spokesperson further stated that the virtual blood bank is a modern, integrated, and fast-response system designed to efficiently connect blood donors with patients during emergencies and other critical situations.
