LUCENA CITY — Volcanic earthquakes and tremors continued to shake Taal Volcano in Batangas province, with seismic activity intensifying over the past 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported on Sunday morning, Jan. 4. In its morning bulletin, Phivolcs said the volcano recorded 55 volcanic earthquakes during the monitoring period. These were accompanied by nine volcanic tremors, as well as an ongoing tremor event that has persisted since 8:07 a.m. the previous day.
