ISLAMABAD: Capital police on Sunday put in place strict security arrangements at churches across the city to ensure the safety of the Christian community during worship services. According to city police, officers and personnel remained on high alert outside churches, maintaining vigilance to facilitate peaceful worship. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Qazi Ali Raza said special instructions were issued to all relevant police stations to reassess security at places of worship within their jurisdictions and ensure foolproof arrangements. He said checking at entry and exit points were intensified, while surveillance was enhanced through the use of walk-through gates and CCTV cameras. Senior police officers visited various churches to review security measures and issued on-the-spot instructions to personnel deployed on duty. Female police officers were also included in the security teams to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for families attending services. SSP Qazi Ali Raza emphasised that the protection of life and property of all minorities remains the top priority of the police, adding that the force is fully prepared to respond to any untoward incident.
