KARACHI: Three alleged robbers have been killed and an accomplice has been arrested in an injured condition in a police encounter following a home robbery in Karachi’s Bufferzone. SSP Central stated today that the encounter took place after a serious robbery incident at house number 609, sector, within the limits of Taimuria Police Station. According to the statement of Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui, the incident began when four unidentified armed suspects entered the house, held the family hostage, and were fleeing after the robbery. Local police received a timely report and a team was dispatched to the scene. Upon the arrival of the police party, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the officers. In the retaliatory action by the law enforcement agencies, three attackers were killed on the spot. The fourth suspect, identified as Qayyum son of Mehboob, was arrested in an injured state. He was immediately transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical attention via a Chhipa ambulance. Authorities have recovered weapons and other evidence from the scene. A formal investigation into the incident has been initiated, and officials say that more information will be released in due course.
