Flights disturbed due to poor visibility

KARACHI: Karachi’s flight operations faced major disruptions on Sunday due to poor weather and low visibility, with ten flights from Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) cancelled. A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, PK-302, originally scheduled to depart for Lahore at 8 am, has been delayed by five hours and is now expected to take off at 1 pm. Flights operated by Emirates Airlines, Air Sial, Airblue also included. In Lahore, three flights departing from Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIA) were cancelled. PIA flight PK-302, bound for Karachi, is now scheduled for 4 p.m. An Air Sial flight, PF-786, originally due to land in Dubai, was delayed by three hours and is expected to depart at 2 p.m. Meanwhile, PIA flight PK-306 from Lahore to Karachi will now depart at 10 p.m., after a five-hour delay. Other affected flights included Saudi Arabian Airlines flight SV-729, originally departing for Jeddah from Islamabad, and Air Sial flight OF723 from Multan, which was delayed by four hours. PIA flight PK-257, scheduled to land in Sharjah from Peshawar, will now depart from Peshawar at 10 pm. Authorities advised passengers to check with airlines for updated schedules and to allow extra time for airport procedures as conditions continue to affect air travel across the region.
