Marcos vetoes almost P92-B unprogrammed funds in 2026 budget

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has vetoed nearly P92.5 billion in unprogrammed appropriations (UA) in the proposed national budget for 2026. “We acknowledge the support of Congress in limiting the unprogrammed appropriations to essential needs. However, I push further and reduce it to the absolute bare minimum. This shall be at the level lowest since 2019,” Marcos said in his speech after signing the P6.7-trillion budget at a ceremony in Malacañang on Monday.
