GNFS investigates viral video alleging assault on journalist by Fire officers

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has clarified the circumstances surrounding a viral video on social media that allegedly shows fire officers assaulting a civilian, saying the incident is under active investigation and urging the public to remain calm. In a press release issued on Sunday, January 5, and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Divisional Officer Grade Two Desmond E. Ackah, the Service said it has taken note of the video, which has sparked public concern and allegations that a journalist was assaulted by fire personnel. According to the GNFS, the alleged assault is currently being investigated by the police, and the Service has pledged its full cooperation to help establish the facts.
