"Leonor Zalabata, UN Permanent Representative of Colombia, said there was 'no justification whatsoever' for the US attack on Venezuela and detention of Nicolas Maduro, during a heated session of the UNSC on Monday. "All this represents evident violations of Venezuelan sovereignty, political independence, and territorial integrity," she said. "There is no justification whatsoever, in any circumstance, for the unilateral use of force or to commit an act of aggression. Such actions constitute a serious violation of international law and the UN Charter." Nicolas Maduro was grabbed by US forces alongside First Lady Cilia Flores in the early hours of Saturday, after strikes on Caracas and other areas - and held, according to DC on 'narcoterrorism' charges. Caracas declared a national emergency, accusing Washington of attempting to "seize Venezuela’s strategic resources, particularly its oil and minerals." The attack drew widespread condemnation worldwide, including from Latin America, as well as from BRICS nations such as Russia and China and around the world.
