The 15-member UN Security Council met in New York hours ​before Maduro is due to appear in a Manhattan federal court on drug charges including narco-terrorism ‍conspiracy. During the meeting, Venezuela's UN envoy, Samuel Moncada, slammed an "illegitimate armed attack with no legal justification", and accused the US of having "violated the UN charter".
