Performance of SFERP: World Bank’s rating proves Sindh govt’s better planning: Sharjeel

KARACHI: The World Bank’s declaration rating the performance of the Sindh Flood Emergency Rehabilitation Project (SFERP) as satisfactory is proof of the Sindh government’s better planning, says Sharjeel Memon. In a statement on Tuesday, Sindh Senior Minister and Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said that more than 7.2 million people benefited from the rehabilitation of critical infrastructure across the province under the project, including 3.4 million women. He said that the Sindh government gave top priority to the rehabilitation of flood victims and ensured transparency, speed, and effective implementation despite limited resources. The World Bank’s satisfactory assessment of progress confirms that the Sindh government is moving in the right direction. He said that the project has led to the restoration of basic facilities in affected areas and that the Flood Emergency Rehabilitation Project is playing an important role in economic and social stability.
