FM Dar chairs meeting on preparations for 9th OIC Women’s Conference

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday chaired a committee meeting to review preparations for the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, which Pakistan will host in 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said. According to MoFA, the meeting focused on finalising arrangements, logistics and thematic sessions for the conference, with the DPM/FM directing concerned ministries to ensure smooth organisation and close coordination with the OIC Secretariat. Dar underlined that hosting the conference reflects Pakistan’s commitment to promoting women’s rights and strengthening their role across social, economic and political spheres, the statement added. The meeting was attended by the federal ministers for Law and Justice, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch, secretaries of the Cabinet and Human Rights divisions, along with senior officials from relevant ministries.
