The Finnish National Bureau of Investigation have seized the cargo vessel Fitburg as part of a criminal investigation into damage to an undersea telecommunications cable in the Gulf of Finland on New Year’s Eve. The NBI took control of the ship on Wednesday morning to secure technical examinations and crew interviews. The vessel is currently held in the port of Kantvik, west of Helsinki, under police supervision.
