"The coach and players of the Ivory Coast national team expressed their delight after defeating Burkina Faso 3–0 and qualifying for the next round, where they will face Egypt in the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations. Amad Diallo, Yan Diomande, and Bazoumana Touré scored the goals for Ivory Coast, in a match they dominated. "It was a derby against a neighbouring country. We were very focused and, in my opinion, it was a team effort. We scored quickly and were confident, which gave us a boost and enabled us to push forward,” said Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie. Ivorian head coach Emerse Fae said he was pleased with his players’ performance. “We gave it our all. We played really well and were very determined.
