ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Dubai-based real estate major DAMAC Group have agreed to explore concrete collaboration in PropTech, tokenization, outsourcing, and digital talent deployment, following a high-level meeting between a Sajwani-led DAMAC delegation and Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja. The discussions resulted in a shared understanding to pursue technology-driven investment models, support women’s digital and financial inclusion, and assess Pakistan as a potential regional hub for real estate technology and digital services. The meeting was held at the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, where the Federal Minister highlighted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Digital Nation Pakistan (DNP) vision provides the strategic foundation for the government’s digital reforms, aimed at building an inclusive, innovation-led digital economy. She emphasized that Pakistan’s policy direction is focused on enabling private-sector participation, fostering innovation, and attracting foreign investment through a stable and business-friendly digital environment. The DAMAC delegation was given a comprehensive briefing on Pakistan’s digitization roadmap, with particular emphasis on women’s digital and financial inclusion initiatives. The Federal Minister noted that under the Prime Minister’s Ramazan Package, 500,000 women were digitally onboarded within a single month through the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) by opening digital wallets, describing the initiative as a major step toward broad-based financial inclusion and formalization of the economy. Both sides held in-depth discussions on outsourcing opportunities, recognition and utilization of Pakistan’s growing pool of technology talent, and the application of property technology solutions. Special focus was placed on tokenization of real estate assets as a means to improve efficiency, unlock dormant savings, and enhance liquidity in the real estate and financial sectors through technology-enabled investment mechanisms. The DAMAC delegation was led by Ameera Hussain Sajwani, Co-Managing Director of DAMAC Group and Chief Executive Officer of Prypco. Other members included Syed Zeeshan Shah, Chairman of ONE Group; Aqib Hassan, Chief Commercial Officer of One Homes; and Joseph L Um, General Manager Tokenisation at Prypco. Members of the delegation praised the skills and innovation potential of Pakistani youth and appreciated the country’s expanding digital infrastructure.
