Prosper Tachie has been elected the new President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), defeating incumbent leader Rev. Isaac Owusu in a keenly contested national election held in Accra. Mr Tachie secured 436 votes, representing 61.75 per cent of the total valid ballots cast, while Rev. Owusu polled 266 votes, amounting to 37.78 per cent. A third contender, Charles K. Amponsah, garnered just two votes, representing 0.28 per cent.
