India and France reaffirmed their long-standing strategic partnership during a high-level meeting in Paris between External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot. Calling France India’s oldest strategic partner in Europe, Jaishankar highlighted the importance of continuous dialogue amid growing global uncertainty. Both sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation across sectors and advancing the Horizon 2047 roadmap. Emphasising a shared commitment to multipolarity, the leaders underlined the need for close coordination to help stabilise global politics. The meeting also paved the way for the upcoming visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to India.
