A historic countryside pub, with roots dating back centuries, is set to close in spring. The Bear & Staff, located in the heart of Gateacre in South Liverpool, has been acquired by Chester restaurant company Hickory's Smokehouse who has announced plans to invest and reopen the premises in what will be a first for the city.
