Alabama placed under a flood watch Friday and Saturday triggered by excessive rain

At 11:53 a.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released a flood watch valid from Friday 6 a.m. until Saturday noon for Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Winston, Walker, Blount, Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Marengo, Dallas, Autauga and Elmore counties.
