Footage shows vehicles and nearby buildings on fire, with transitional government forces deployed in the area amid ongoing fighting. According to local reports, the SDF targeted the vicinity of the Rahman Mosque with heavy artillery. The group had not commented on the incident at the time of publication. SDF commander Mazloum Abdi issued a statement on Thursday, saying that "continuing the approach of fighting and the language of war to impose unilateral solutions is unacceptable," warning that such actions had previously led to massacres amounting to war crimes in Syria's coastal region and in Suwayda. He stressed the use of tanks and artillery in residential areas, civilian shelling and attempts to storm Kurdish districts during talks undermine efforts to reach an understanding, adding that the Autonomous Administration has been working to halt the attacks. The renewed fighting comes two days after officials from both sides held talks on implementing the so-called 'March Agreement', after its deadline had passed, with the meeting reportedly yielding no results. On March 10, al-Sharaa and Abdi signed an agreement to integrate all civil and military institutions affiliated with the Kurdish self-administration into the Syrian state by the end of 2025. The deal had not been implemented at the time of publication, and sporadic clashes between the two sides have continued.
