MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared five local holidays in January and February to celebrate festivals and founding anniversaries in various parts of the country. The President, through Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, signed the proclamations, which were recently published in the Official Gazette. Proclamation 1125 designated Feb. 23 as a special non-working day in Baguio City on the occasion of Ibaloi Day. Proclamation 1124 declared Jan. 8 as a special non-working day in Calubian, Leyte to celebrate its founding anniversary. Proclamation 1123 set Jan. 19 a special non-working day in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur for the annual Pasalamat Festival 2026, scheduled from Jan. 12 to 19. Proclamation 1121 declared Jan. 26 as a special non-working day in Carigara, Leyte to mark its 455th founding anniversary. Proclamation 1120 named Jan. 20 as a special non-working day in Lipa City, Batangas for its Coffee Festival.
