I'm EU's most 'pro-US' politician but not a fan of all Trump's decisions! - Tusk doubles down on transatlantic stability with Washington amid Greenland row

"Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk reaffirmed the need to safeguard Europe's transatlantic alliance with the US, despite recent tensions concerning Denmark's Greenland. "There is no need to pretend to be a fan of all of President Trump's decisions. I am not a fan of many of the actions, words, and behaviours of the current American administration," Tusk said in Warsaw on Friday. "The United States, Europe, NATO, and the Atlantic bond are the only chance for the survival of our world [...] Generations have fought for this, and it has a chance of survival only when the West is cohesive and united. That is why I am so concerned about the Greenland issue," he continued. Donald Trump on Monday reiterated his stance that the US 'needed' the Danish territory for 'security' and quipped that Denmark could not protect it. Trump has not ruled out taking over the territory by force. "I am probably the most pro-American politician in Europe [...] Among friends, you should speak openly about what is right and what is wrong," Tusk underlined. Leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, the UK and Denmark hit back at Trump on Tuesday via a joint statement, saying that 'it is for Denmark and Greenland, and them only, to decide on matters concerning Denmark and Greenland'. During the presser, Tusk also touched on his talks with President Karol Nawrocki over the same day, as they sought to bolster Poland's international reputation through its role in resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict and strengthening its position in the G20. The PM remained at odds with Nawrocki over a domestic dispute, saying, "I really don't understand how anyone can veto a law that is supposed to make the state more effective in combating online paedophilia, propaganda, and Russian disinformation." It comes after Nawrocki vetoed the EU's Digital Services Act, which was passed by Tusk's parliamentary majority and introduced into the country."
