Bhopal water contamination: After water crisis in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, groundwater samples from several parts of Bhopal have tested positive for E. coli bacteria, prompting authorities to ban the use of groundwater in the affected areas. E coli bacteria can cause diarrhoea, stomach pain, loss of appetite and low fever. People can get infected after swallowing E. coli and this can happen through contaminated food or water. In Bhopal, a sluaghterhouse has also been sealed amid concerns over contaminated groundwater.
