TACLOBAN CITY — Flooding affected several communities in Eastern Samar and Northern Samar provinces on Saturday as a prevailing shear line brought moderate to heavy rains beginning Friday, disaster officials reported. In Eastern Samar, the towns of San Julian, Maslog, and Jipapad, as well as Borongan City, experienced flooding in inundated residential areas that disrupted daily activities. The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Maslog reported that 235 families, or about 705 individuals, from the barangays of Libertad, Tugas, and Poblacions 1 and 2 were affected by heavy flooding.
