LUCENA CITY — Taal Volcano in Batangas province broke its recent seismic calm through a surge in volcanic earthquakes and tremor episodes over the past 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported on Sunday, Jan. 11. In its morning bulletin, Phivolcs said Taal recorded 20 volcanic earthquakes accompanied by 14 volcanic tremors lasting from one to 125 minutes.
