Budget 2026 just weeks away, the mining sector is emerging as a key area of focus for the government. Sources indicate that the Ministry of Coal has proposed a ₹35,000-crore incentive package for coal gasification, a sharp increase from earlier allocations. The move could provide a major boost to both PSU and private players, including Coal India, BHEL, GAIL, NTPC, NLC and SAIL. The proposal aligns with India’s low-carbon transition goals, targeting 100 million tonnes of coal gasification by 2030, while also helping reduce import dependence.
