UCC-College of Law surpasses national average with 72.73% Bar passing rate

The University of Caloocan City-College of Law (UCC-COL) has once again made a mark in the Philippine Bar Examinations, getting a 72.73% passing rate in the 2025 Bar Exams, higher than the national average of 48.98%. UCC-COL produced 16 new lawyers, its highest number of passers in its relatively young history as a legal education institution, and further cementing its consistent excellent performance in what has been touted as one of the most difficult licensure exams in the country. Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan congratulated the new lawyers and considered their achievement and UCC’s high passing rate in the Bar Exams as a source of pride for the whole city. Last year, the Legal Education Board (LEB) recognized the UCC-COL as one of the top-performing law schools nationwide, ranking 6th overall in the 11-34 First Time Takers Category for the 2024 Bar Examinations. With a 60% overall passing rate in 2024, the UCC-COL maintained its excellent performance and produced 12 homegrown lawyers, the mayor said. He reiterated his commitment to invest in opportunities that would provide a bright future not only for individual students but also for the city as a whole. A brainchild of the mayor’s father and now District 1 Rep. Oscar Malapitan, the UCC-College of Law was established in 2017.
