"Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Paris on Sunday to rally against ongoing conflicts and the humanitarian aid crisis in Gaza. Footage shows protesters marching down the streets, holding banners and flags reading 'stop genocide, stop colonisation', as they voiced their opposition. "Israel continues to blockade Gaza with impunity and to ban humanitarian organisations. The settlers continue to colonise, and it is still a silence that kills," said Giselle. Protesters criticised France's position on the conflict, arguing that symbolic gestures such as recognising a Palestinian state had little impact while violence continues on the ground. "France still supplies weapons to Israel, so you could say it's complicit. Even though it has recognised Palestine, it hasn't done anything else," said Katy, who believes the move was a public relations exercise by the French authorities. "Right now, we're focusing on Venezuela, so Palestine is being pushed aside even though people are dying every day. There is no ceasefire, don't believe it," she added, claiming that "there are at least 200 deaths every day, so we need to take action." Hamas and Israel have reached a ceasefire agreement, which came into effect on October 10, under the framework of the 20-point 'Trump Plan'. The key provisions of this agreement include an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, both living and deceased, and the entry of humanitarian aid. Israel launched a military operation in Gaza after Hamas-led militants based in the Palestinian territory attacked Israel on 7 October 2023, killing 1,200 people and abducting 251. At least 70,100 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry."
