PESHAWAR: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to launch a specialized/unique number plates’ scheme. Under this scheme, interested vehicle owners and consumers will be able to obtain number plates for both new and existing vehicles featuring special, unique names and special identity-based number plates, in line with their personal preferences. Following the successful introduction of personalized number plates, this initiative marks the second major and distinctive project of the provincial government being implemented through the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, officials said. Officials of the KPITB briefed during a meeting on the progress made so far in ensuring the availability of online facilities aimed at the early launch of this innovative initiative of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The KP Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jahan chaired the meeting. The meeting was attended by Secretary Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Khalid Ilyas, concerned directors, and officers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB).
