The MTR says services along the Kwun Tong line have resumed following emergency repairs of the overhead cable, which briefly disrupted operation during the Monday morning rush. The train operator announced at around 7:40am that a section of the cable between Lam Tin and Tiu Keng Leng stations had malfunctioned, affecting power supply. As a result, commuters were told that a trip between Tiu Keng Leng and Whampoa would take 15 to 20 minutes longer than usual. Services have gradually resumed about half an hour later, following repairs.
