Stolen railway material worth millions recovered

KARACHI: Pakistan Railways Police Karachi Division, in a major operation in the Landhi area, arrested a gang red-handed stealing valuable railway tracks and other equipment worth millions of rupees. The operation was carried out under the leadership of SHO Pakistan Railways Police Landhi Muhammad Habib Zafar. According to the Pakistan Railways Police, the operation was carried out near Murtaza Chowrangi, Malir River, in the limits of Landhi, where the accused were stealing railway lines by cutting them with the help of a gas cutter. The stolen railway tracks were being loaded into a truck when the Railway Police took timely action and seized a large quantity of railway tracks along with the truck. The police arrested four suspects red-handed on the spot. According to initial investigations, the seized railway equipment is worth millions of rupees, which was an attempt to cause serious damage to national assets. A case has been registered against the arrested accused at the Railway Police Station, Landhi, while raids are being conducted to arrest other accused involved in the railway theft.
