Leonardo DiCaprio have previously worked together on 2021′s Don’t Look Up , which was nominated for multiple Academy Awards. Timothée had previously gotten some acting advice from the Oscar winner, too. “Well, Leonardo DiCaprio said to me, ‘No superhero movies, no hard drugs.’ Which I thought was very good,’” he told The New York Times in 2024. Still, he confessed that though he’d followed the advice, “The movie that made me want to act is a superhero movie, The Dark Knight. “If the script was great, if the director was great, I’d have to consider it.” They also shared another hug at 2024′s Golden Globes, when Leonardo was nominated for Killers Of the Flower Moon, and Timothée was up for Wonka. This year, Timothée and Leonardo were up against George Clooney for Jay Kelly, Ethan Hawke for Blue Moon, Jesse Plemons for Bugonia, and Lee Byung-Hun for No Other Choice.
