Jazz, a Pakistani telecom operator, has announced the appointment of Aamer Ejaz as its Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) as part of a major corporate identity revamp. The telco also unveiled JazzWorld, a unified group identity integrating its connectivity, digital, financial, lifestyle, health, data centre, AI, and platform businesses under a single vision. According to a statement released on Monday, the CAIO role was created to deepen investment in AI-enabled solutions across the enterprise. “The CAIO will accelerate practical and responsible AI development tailored to Pakistan’s context, enhancing user experience, strengthening business intelligence, and driving product innovation across platforms,” read the statement. In parallel, JazzWorld has also elevated cybersecurity as a core governance priority, with Chief Information Security Officer Qasim Shafique now reporting directly to the CEO. Under the JazzWorld identity, the company aims to connect and scale platforms across fintech, entertainment, youth engagement, cloud, software development, healthtech, fashion commerce, and insurtech. Jazz announces strategic transformation to ‘Service Co’ Commenting on the launch, Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of JazzWorld, said: “JazzWorld is a reflection of who we have become and where we are headed. We are advancing Pakistan’s digital ecosystem by transforming payments, online services, data centres, and AI capabilities.” The company emphasised that Jazz will remain the core connectivity layer within JazzWorld’s broader ecosystem.
