India to sell 130 billion Indian rupees of new 50-year paper on January 16, central bank says

India will sell 130 billion rupees ($1.44 billion) worth of its new 50-year bond in an auction this week, the country’s central bank said on Monday. India first announced a 50-year bond in 2023, in response to market demand for longer duration securities, before which it had issued bonds with a tenure of up to 40 years.
