OIL firms raised pump prices on Jan. 13 as the global oil market continued to react to political developments around the world. The per-liter price of gasoline increased by 30 centavos, diesel by 20 centavos and kerosene by 30 centavos. The price adjustment was attributed by local oil industry sources to the mounting tensions on the final trading day of Mean of Platts, Singapore, on the concerns over the potential halting of Iran oil export due to civil unrest, the disruption of Russian oil exports due to the protracted Russia-Ukraine war, and the uncertainty of the oil supply from Venezuela. Last week, the prices of gasoline and kerosene were lowered by 10 centavos per liter, and that of diesel rose by 20 centavos. Since the start of this year, the price of gasoline has risen by 20 centavos, diesel by 40 centavos, and kerosene by 20 centavos.
