Earlier he wrote on Truth Social: "Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING - TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a big price. I have cancelled all meetings with Iranian Officials until the senseless killing of protesters STOPS. HELP IS ON ITS WAY. MIGA!!!" He did not expand on what he meant by 'help' although the White House has said airstrikes are among the 'many' options. Trump also described Fed Chair Jerome Powell as 'incompetent' or 'crooked'. The administration has threatened to indict Powell over comments to Congress about renovation cost over-runs - while Powell has called it a 'pretext' for Trump to take control of the Fed. In relation to protests against the ICE immigration agency following a fatal shooting, Trump added: "They (migrants) came in through Biden's open borders, and we're getting them out of our country". Economic protests have been ongoing in Iran since December, and intensified in recent days and weeks, with Trump himself accused of escalation by Tehran. Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei claimed some rioters were destroying property to 'please' the US president. Trump is set to address the Detroit Economic Club on the US auto industry and manufacturing."
