KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Local Government, Housing and Town Planning, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has reassured that the Sindh government, pursuing the vision of PPP leadership, is doing its best to uplift the infrastructure of Karachi by executing and launching many development projects throughout the city. The completion of these projects will bring significant improvement in the city. Directives have been issued for the completion of these projects at the earliest. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is personally supervising these development projects, he said. The Minister was talking to the media at the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the Korangi Town Municipal Corporation and NADRA. The event was also attended by the Chief Minister’s Special Assistant Najmi Alam, Ali Rashid, the Chairman of TMC Korangi and the Director General of NADRA. Syed Nasir Shah said that the agreement between TMC Korangi and NADRA will benefit millions of people. He termed the participation of representatives from Jamaat-e-Islami, JUI, MQM, and other political parties in the ceremony as a positive sign. He emphasized that all political and religious parties must work together for the betterment of Karachi. He stated that the Sindh government provides annual grants worth billions of rupees to Indus Hospital, and that the people of Korangi benefit the most from its services. The Minister said that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was given full protocol during his visit to Sindh, but PTI attempted to misuse Sindh’s hospitality as part of its conspiracy. He alleged that they wanted to create another May 9–like scene in Karachi, which the provincial government successfully thwarted through its wisdom and timely action. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
