KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided that instead of purchasing agricultural seeds from the private sector, it will provide farmers with its own government-produced seeds at affordable prices. It has also decided to carry out geo-marking of all agricultural lands belonging to the Sindh Seed Corporation. In this regard, an important meeting was held at the Sindh Secretariat under the chairmanship of Sindh Agriculture Minister Muhammad Bux Mahar to review the performance of the Sindh Seed Corporation. The meeting was attended by Agriculture Secretary Muhammad Zaman Narejo, Additional Secretary Idrees Khoso, Managing Director of Sindh Seed Corporation Abdul Fattah Halio, and other officials. During the meeting, a detailed review of the overall performance of the Sindh Seed Corporation was conducted. Officials presented performance reports, while the Managing Director presented the future plan of the corporation. The meeting was informed that compared to previous years, wheat cultivation had increased by 352 acres, with a total of 2242.85 acres under wheat cultivation. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
