The debate around the EU-Mercosur trade deal has fast become one of the loudest and most contentious in Irish politics. In recent days, we have seen protests, petitions and now a second Sinn Féin private members’ motion in the Dáil. People have a right to protest and be heard, and indeed they have been heard.
