'Russia does not abandon its friends' - Moscow donates 1,400 tonnes of wheat to Bolivia

"Russia donated 1,400 tonnes of wheat to Bolivia as a gesture of international solidarity aimed at strengthening food security amid global economic pressures. Footage captured on Tuesday shows the wheat being received in the municipality of Viacha. Bolivian authorities said the shipment will be used to support pregnant women in rural communities. “These 1,400 tons will go in direct support to more than 60,000 women in gestation, pregnant women who are part of our subsidy,” said Sergio Siles, manager of the Food Production Support Company. Also attending the reception was Russian Ambassador Dmitry Yurievich Verchenko, who highlighted the strength of bilateral cooperation and reiterated Moscow’s support for the Bolivian people. The ambassador said the delivery “confirms that even in a context of global crises, Russia continues to be a reliable partner that does not abandon its friends.” The wheat shipment was delivered through the World Food Programme and arrived at a time when inflation and volatility in global grain prices are affecting vulnerable sectors in Bolivia. State-owned EMAPA said it will distribute the wheat through its subsidy programmes, prioritising small producers and families facing nutritional risk."
