PSEi falls below 6,400 on weak peso, rising oil prices

MANILA, Philippines — The local stock barometer dropped below the 6,400 level on Wednesday, dragged down by the further depreciation of the peso as well as oil price concerns. By the end of the trading session, the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) fell by 0.3 percent, or 18.95 points, to finish at 6,389.81. The broader All Shares Index likewise dipped, although just 0.07 percent, or 2.44 points, to 3,635.94. Financials and services recorded losses.
