'We’re ready' - Egypt's Hassan says players in confident mood ahead of AFCON semi-final against Senegal

"Egyptian head coach Hossam Hassan has played down talk of his team being underdogs ahead of their African Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final against Senegal on Wednesday night. Footage shows the players in a positive mood as they take part in their final training session ahead of the clash, with captain Mohamed Salah warming up alongside teammates. Goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy also took part in the session and is expected to continue in goal for the Pharaohs. "We are ready and preparing, because we are the Egyptian national team, and the Egyptian national team is great and loves championships, and has reached the semi-final more than once and won the championship, and our players are used to it. All respect to the Senegalese national team," said Hassan during a press conference in Tangier. Forward Trezeguet is confident the players have prepared well for the match, despite having one less day of recovery than the Senegalese squad. "We've trained since our last match and made our preparations before going against the Senegalese team. We're ready, God willing, to make the Egyptian people proud," he said. The seven-time champions take on the Lions of Teranga at the Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier for a place in Sunday's final against either Nigeria or Morocco. "
