The traditional bull-taming sport has begun in Madurai for the Pongal 2026 festival. Around 550 bull tamers and 1,100 bulls are participating. The event spans three days, with Palamedu and Alanganallur hosting the finale. Winners will receive attractive prizes, including a car and tractor. Over 2,200 police personnel are ensuring security for the festivities.
