NBI urges Atong Ang to surrender as manhunt intensifies

MANILA, Philippines — As the manhunt for businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang intensifies, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Thursday urged him to surrender to authorities. This follows the issuance of an arrest warrant by the Sta. Cruz Laguna Regional Trial Court against Ang, who faces 15 counts of kidnapping and serious illegal detention, and four counts of kidnapping with homicide, in connection with the deaths of several sabungeros (cockfighting enthusiasts).
